    Management of some common insect pests and diseases of tomato (solanum lycopersicon L)

    Tomatoes are affected by several of the insect pests and diseases that wreak havoc on their productivity. Tomato Leaf Minor (TLM), Tuta absoluta (Meyrick), is the most common insect pest affecting tomato yields, while Fusarium oxysporum, early blight, and Late blight are among the most common diseases wreaking havoc on tomato crops in many tomato-growing countries across the world. The most long-term solution is to implement an integrated system that includes cultural practices, fungicide spraying, and the adoption of broad-spectrum genetic resistance cultivars.
